Neuro-electrical stimulation to re-wire recovery

Your muscles move because nerves tell them to. After an injury, that conversation gets interrupted: some muscles stay clenched, others shut off. Electrical stimulation helps restore it.

Two ways we use it

Attended electrical stimulation. Gentle current through pads on the skin eases muscle spasm, dampens pain signals and improves circulation in a sore area. It's a staple for acute flare-ups and the days after a strain or an accident.

Neuromuscular re-education with the NeuFit Neubie. The Neubie uses a different kind of current that can be applied while you move. We use it to find areas where the nervous system is protecting or under-firing, then train those muscles back while you go through active range of motion and exercise. It's how we help people who are "healed" on paper but still weak, guarded or unstable.

Both are attended: we're there choosing pad placement, settings and movements for what your body is doing that day.

What a session is like

Electrical stimulation fits in one 20-minute block. Neubie sessions are active, so plan to move, sometimes on the table and sometimes standing.

Is it right for you?

Not used over the chest with a pacemaker or other implanted electronic device, over the abdomen or low back during pregnancy, over areas of active cancer or blood clots, or on broken skin. Tell us about any seizure history or loss of sensation in the area.

Questions

Is it painful?

No. We start low and raise the intensity to a strong but comfortable level. With the Neubie you're in charge of the dial.

How is the Neubie different from a TENS unit?

A TENS unit mainly masks pain while it's on. Neubie sessions are used during movement to retrain how muscles fire, so the goal is a change that lasts after the session.
